Ladies Who Lunch: Erin Fetherston Spring 2015!

A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Erin Fetherston’s career in design has taken her not only across the country, but overseas as well.

After studying Fashion Design at Parsons Paris, Erin Fetherston showed her first collection in 2005 during the Paris Haute Couture shows and her signature look quickly gained fans from both the press and celebrities.  In 2007 she moved to New York and began showing her collections here, establishing herself in the New York fashion world.

Erin Fetherston’s style is often described as feminine and whimsical with a romantic sensibility and for Spring 2015 the collection continues in the same vein, while also continuing to evolve with current trends.

This was my first time seeing an Erin Fetherston collection and it completely turned me into a fan with a style that is evocative of Audrey Hepburn in a modern way or of the designer herself who has the same inspiring qualities.

Ladies Who Lunch: Nicholas K Spring 2015!

Since the first time I saw a Nicholas K Collection, I have been a fan and my appreciation of the line has continued to grow with each new season.

Nicholas K defines modern dressing, with a style that is a sophisticated urban warrior chic.  The bother and sister team behind Nicholas K keep their unique style from collection to collection, while at the same time pushing the envelope with design elements, drapes and fabrics.

Inspired by Swiss explorer Isabelle Eberhardt, Nicholas K Spring 2015 evolves the line once again with clothing that is perfect for the modern explorer.  Khaki fabrics, impressive silk draping and killer accessories from shoes to belts and bags make this collection as functional as it is visually appealing.

No matter what terrain you are exploring, I am positive that you will find numerous pieces in the Nicholas K Spring 2015 Collection that you will want, no need, to add to your wardrobe!

Ladies Who Lunch: Son Jung Wan Spring 2015!

I have covered Son Jung Wan’s collections starting with the very first collection she presented at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. And, with every subsequent collection, it has become clear why Son Jung Wan is the most successful designer in Korea.

Every season, Son Jung Wan mesmerizes me with stunning collections.  Gorgeous fabrics, interesting embellishments and creative cuts make Son Jung Wan’s collections stand out.

For Spring 2015, the collection is entitled “Dualism” and Son Jung Wan explored the Yin and Yang found in nature.  With this inspiration, Son Jung Wan brings together different elements, marrying contrasting textures, colors and details to create a perfect harmony.

Once again, Son Jung Wan proved she is a master of her craft and managed to keep me as an awestruck fan!

Ladies Who Lunch: Malan Breton Spring 2015!

Since launching his namesake label in 2005, Malan Breton has consistently presented collections that are as luxurious as they are stylish.

Although Malan Breton’s interest in fashion goes back to his childhood, he began his career as an actor, dancer and model.  His experience in the entertainment industry is evident in his collections which always have a dramatic appeal.

Presenting his Malan Breton Spring 2015 Collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Malan Breton took his inspiration from his homeland of Taiwan, a journey of introspection and rediscovering his roots.

Malan Breton titled his Spring 2015 Collection “A Journey To Taiwan: The Heart Of Asia”.  Malan Breton returned to his homeland of Taiwan and marked his directorial debut with his documentary film “Malan Breton - A Journey To Taiwan”.  Produced by Bonnie Bien in association with Taiwan: The Heart Of Asia, the film follows Malan Breton as he returns to Taiwan for the first time after a long absence.

The film explores the elements of Taiwan that inspired this collection as well as the emotional and reminiscent journey the designer experienced in the land of his youth.

Congratulations are in order for a stunning Malan Breton Spring 2015 Collection and also for the film “Malan Breton - A Journey To Taiwan”, which won the New York International Film Festival’s Award for “Best Short Documentary”.

Ladies Who Lunch: Zang Toi Spring 2015!

Whether in a relationship or in a career, 25 years is a landmark achievement.  Zang Toi’s Spring 2015 Collection marked the 25th Anniversary of his company and this prolific designer truly has reason to celebrate.

Zang Toi is a native of Malaysia, however, he came to the U.S. to study fashion design and then to start his own company.  Zang Toi has embraced his adopted U.S. home and has worked hard to achieve the American Dream over the last 25 years.

For Zang Toi Spring 2015, Zang Toi paid homage to his adopted homeland by creating a collection inspired by the American Woman.  The Spring 2015 Collection captures the essence of the American Woman with designs that show her strength and her beauty.

Zang Toi is the consummate showman and his Spring 2015 show didn’t disappoint, with gorgeous clothes and dramatic presentation.  Zang Toi has given us 25 years of breathtaking collections and I look forward to countless more years of his brilliant design!

Ladies Who Lunch: Marlon Gobel Spring 2015!

Being a total fashionista, I am always on the lookout for interesting menswear designers to add to my wardrobe.  Admittedly, there is nothing I love better than the rush I get when obtaining a new and special piece of clothing.  One of my latest obsessions is with designer Marlon Gobel.

Marlon Gobel received his design training at London’s Central Saint Martins and immediately put his studies to good use, working with two of America’s most prominent menswear Designers.  Marlon Gobel started his career with Thom Browne as Director of Operations and then as Assistant Creative Director for Michael Bastian.

Having learned what makes a successful business and the fine art of tailoring from those two masters, in 2010, Marlon Gobel launched his own brand of menswear and collaborated with Christian Louboutin for his Fall 2011 Collection in which the male models all wore exclusive Louboutin shoes.

Marlon Gobel’s collections have a focus on well tailored garments that intertwine clothing and art, creating collections that are truly original and make the wearer subtly stand out.

Ladies Who Lunch: Byron Lars Beauty Mark Spring 2015!

Byron Lars has been one of my favorite designers for decades.  When he first burst onto the scene in the 1990’s, he immediately caught my eye and fueled my passion for fashion design.  Since then, Byron Lars has continued to produce collections that are not only innovative in technique and fabrications, but also stylish, fun and beautiful.

Byron Lars Beauty Mark Spring 2015 continues the designer’s legacy with a collection that hits all of his benchmarks and goes a step further.  After designing capsule collections for HSN, Byron Lars has added more casual, easy pieces to his signature label to meet the everyday lifestyle needs of his core customer.

2014 was a year of recognition for Byron Lars, garnering him the Pratt Institute’s Fashion Visionary Award and Harlem Fashion Row’s Fashion Designer of the Year Award.  While Byron is humble about the awards, fans and followers know how well deserved these awards are for a designer that has excelled year after year.

Spring 2015 is now in the air and it is time to get excited about Spring Fashion with a Byron Lars Beauty Mark Collection that will definitely inspire your season!
