Ladies Who Lunch: Vivienne Tam Spring 2016!

Known for bridging Eastern and Western culture, Vivienne Tam draws on her Asian heritage for inspiration and then translates it into garments that are a hit in both cultures.  And since it's March, Vivienne Tam's Spring 2016 Collection is hitting stores right now!

Vivienne Tam drew her inspiration for her Spring 2016 collection from a mixture of 1920’s Chinese Art Deco and androgynous dressing which was played with during that era.  The Chinese Art Deco theme brought in bold graphics with images of Art Deco dragons, Mahjong tiles and Deco Peonies.

With 2016 also being the Year of the Monkey, Vivienne Tam also included a signature Monkey graphic in all shapes and sizes and in every medium from print and applique to Swarovski crystals.

I am personally super excited about this collection, because it is the first time that Vivienne Tam has included menswear in her line, giving me the chance to finally be able to wear clothing from one of my favorite designers!  I had to have a Monkey Tee and you will definitely see me sporting Vivienne Tam at events around town!

Ladies Who Lunch: NEGRIS LEBRUM Fall 2015!

I saw the NEGRIS LEBRUM  Collection by Travis Hamilton for the first time in 2012 and was impressed enough that I kept a lookout for when the collection would be shown in New York again.

In the 3 years that had passed since my introduction, Travis Hamilton has grown and NEGRIS LEBRUM has grown with him to become more focused and sophisticated.

Travis Hamilton drew style inspiration from several past decades and mixed it with his theme “Le Noir est Joli”, “Black is Beautiful”.  The NEGRIS LEBRUM Fall 2015 color palette keeps in line with this theme, emphasizing black and shades of grey with white to make them all pop.

It’s great to see NEGRIS LEBRUM showing in New York again and proves once again that it is a collection to keep an eye on!

Ladies Who Lunch: Vivienne Hu Fall 2015!

Designer Vivienne Hu worked in investment banking on Wall Street before following her passion and starting her career in Fashion.  Knowing that fashion was her true calling, Vivienne Hu left the world of finance and attended Parsons School of Design.

A native of China who has opened her company in New York, Vivienne Hu blends her past with her present blending her cultural background of China with the modernity and western sensibility of New York.

Presenting her Fall 2015 Collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Vivienne Hu showed a collection that was geared towards a customer who is as she puts it, fearlessly contemporary, independent yet sexy and feminine.

Vivienne Hu took her inspiration for the Fall 2015 Collection from one of her favorite operas Wagner’s Die Valkyries.  Wagner’s opera inspired a collection that stayed true to Vivienne Hu’s clean silhouettes, while at the same time infusing it with strong colors and a sense of strength.

Ladies Who Lunch: Erin Fetherston Fall 2015!

Erin Fetherston was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, but this California girl has shown that her style is appealing on a global level.  Who wouldn’t want to look like a modern day Audrey Hepburn, a combination of femininity, playfulness, sophistication and just the right amount of sexiness.

For Fall 2015, Erin Fetherston named her collection Wildwood after her hometown street lined with oak trees.  Running with the inspiration, she created a collection with luxurious fabrics and a beautiful fall palette of winter florals, burgundies, teals, forest greens, rich golds, ivory and black.

Erin Fetherston Fall 2015 delivers in a collection that embodies all the elements a chic modern day woman could want.

Ladies Who Lunch: Nicholas K Fall 2015!

Nicholas K is the definition of the urban-nomad style, mastering a look that is chic, sophisticated and definitely has a hip urban vibe.  The brother and sister team, Nicholas and Christopher Kunz have perfected a style that is uniquely there own.

Each season Nicholas K evolves, grows and redefines itself, while at the same time staying true to its urban-nomad style.  For Fall 2015, Nicholas K presented a collection that was true to its aesthetic, but also had a more refined edge to it.

Nicholas and Christopher took their inspiration for Nicholas K Fall 2015 from a combination of classic film noir and Steampunk, resulting in a collection that merged modern day with a Victorian and Gothic feel.  The signature elements of Nicholas K were mixed with dip-dyed floor length gowns, shearling trimmed duvet coats and cool aviator jackets.

As I have said before, Nicholas K is not my typical personal style, but the design genius behind the garments has totally made me a fan and I would and do wear their very cool clothing.  The Nicholas K Fall 2015 collection is right on target and has drawn me in once again!
