Ladies Who Lunch: Marlon Gobel Spring 2015!

Being a total fashionista, I am always on the lookout for interesting menswear designers to add to my wardrobe.  Admittedly, there is nothing I love better than the rush I get when obtaining a new and special piece of clothing.  One of my latest obsessions is with designer Marlon Gobel.

Marlon Gobel received his design training at London’s Central Saint Martins and immediately put his studies to good use, working with two of America’s most prominent menswear Designers.  Marlon Gobel started his career with Thom Browne as Director of Operations and then as Assistant Creative Director for Michael Bastian.

Having learned what makes a successful business and the fine art of tailoring from those two masters, in 2010, Marlon Gobel launched his own brand of menswear and collaborated with Christian Louboutin for his Fall 2011 Collection in which the male models all wore exclusive Louboutin shoes.

Marlon Gobel’s collections have a focus on well tailored garments that intertwine clothing and art, creating collections that are truly original and make the wearer subtly stand out.

Ladies Who Lunch: Byron Lars Beauty Mark Spring 2015!

Byron Lars has been one of my favorite designers for decades.  When he first burst onto the scene in the 1990’s, he immediately caught my eye and fueled my passion for fashion design.  Since then, Byron Lars has continued to produce collections that are not only innovative in technique and fabrications, but also stylish, fun and beautiful.

Byron Lars Beauty Mark Spring 2015 continues the designer’s legacy with a collection that hits all of his benchmarks and goes a step further.  After designing capsule collections for HSN, Byron Lars has added more casual, easy pieces to his signature label to meet the everyday lifestyle needs of his core customer.

2014 was a year of recognition for Byron Lars, garnering him the Pratt Institute’s Fashion Visionary Award and Harlem Fashion Row’s Fashion Designer of the Year Award.  While Byron is humble about the awards, fans and followers know how well deserved these awards are for a designer that has excelled year after year.

Spring 2015 is now in the air and it is time to get excited about Spring Fashion with a Byron Lars Beauty Mark Collection that will definitely inspire your season!

Ladies Who Lunch: Vivienne Tam Spring 2015!

As Spring collections start to roll into the stores, it is time to start showing the best that will be heading your way!  One of my favorite designers to show during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Vivienne Tam always delivers collections that are well thought out and brilliantly executed!

For Spring 2015, Vivienne Tam took her inspiration from a visit to the Forbidden City in Beijing.  Vivienne Tam took landscape elements found in the paintings, architecture and objects in the Forbidden City and translated them into prints and embroideries for a collection that embraces Spring to perfection.

Vivienne Tam also made use of technological fabrics and laser cutting for a look that is thoroughly modern.  Neoprene and power mesh were the stand out fabrics and served as the canvas for Vivienne Tam to create her printed and embroidered landscapes.

Vivienne Tam also collaborated with Pandora Jewelry to create the perfect look on the catwalk.  She also collaborated with Zeusé, creating limited edition Vivienne Tam designed phone charging clutches, which are a must have!

The master of merging Eastern and Western Culture, Vivienne Tam Spring 2015 does so again flawlessly!

Ladies Who Lunch: CITYZEN by Azin!

Architect Azin Valy is the co-founder of the award winning Architecture firm I-Beam.  But Azin Valy’s creativity merged her architecture world with the fashion world, creating a luxury line of fashion and accessories.

CITYZEN by Azin began as a line of scarves with topographical maps of cities around the world becoming the artwork on the scarves.

And while scarves are still the focal point of the collection, CITYZEN by Azin has expanded to offering dresses and bags with the same map artwork.  For the dresses, Azin Valy uses the elements of the topography to define each piece with rivers turning into straps, mountains forming necklines and roads marking transitions in the garments.

The newest addition to the CITYZEN by Azin collection are  scarves and bags for men!  And with this addition, you know that you will find yours truly decked out in a scarf by CITYZEN by Azin!
