Ladies Who Lunch: Malan Breton Men Spring/Summer 2016!

Designer Malan Breton creates upscale sophisticated collections for both men and women.  A native of Taiwan, his careers in the entertainment industry and as a designer have led him to live internationally.  His international lifestyle has decidedly filtered into his collections, giving them a global appeal.

However, Malan Breton also infuses his collections with inspirations taken from his homeland, often using fabrics from Taiwan and influencing his color palette.

While Malan Breton designs beautiful collections for women, I am personally drawn to his menswear collections and lust after the entire line.  Malan Breton presented his Spring 2016 Men’s Collection during New York Men’s Fashion Week and showed us once again why his designs are so special.

Ladies Who Lunch: Malan Breton Spring 2016!

If you are searching for clothing that will make you fit in with the jet-set crowd, look no further than Malan BretonMalan Breton’s collections are sophisticated, elegant and as luxe as they come.

While Malan Breton draws his inspiration from sources as varied as Cabaret and the Edwardian era, there is always an element of his Taiwanese heritage that melds with that inspiration.  Staying true to his background, a lot of the fabrics in his collection are drawn from Taiwan and its traditional fabrics.

Drawing on his recent travels to his homeland, Malan Breton’s Spring 2016 Collection was inspired by Taiwan’s Sun Moon Lake.  The inspiration provided a color palette that is perfect for this Spring season.

Ladies Who Lunch: Erin Fetherston Spring 2016!

Erin Fetherston is known for her ultra feminine designs with an element of whimsy and fun.  These are clothes that are perfect for the modern day Audrey Hepburn, a look that is of the moment, yet timeless.

For Spring 2016, Erin Fetherston expanded her vision by adding denim pieces into the collection for a little bit of a more laid-back look.  Erin Fetherston also introduced a collection of minaudières purses, shaped like needlepoint hoops with embroideded images, phrases and words, like LOVE.

Erin Fetherston Spring 2016 manages to stay true to the designer’s vision of femininity and romance, while pushing the envelope to continue the evolution of the label, producing a collection her customers both established and new will adore.

Ladies Who Lunch: Son Jung Wan Spring 2016!

I was at Korean designer Son Jung Wan’s first New York Fashion Week presentation in February 2011 and I became an immediate fan.  From season to season after that first show, Son Jung Wan has never failed to produce amazing collections, proving my initial instincts were right!

Son Jung Wan creates collections that are always feminine, but the most exciting aspect of her collections is the artistry that she puts into them.  Son Jung Wan’s collections explore creative drapes and silhouettes that are always flattering and combine them with innovative and interesting fabrics.

For Spring 2016, Son Jung Wan drew her inspiration from Korea’s Jeju Island and the nature that is embodied there.  The inspiration led again to artistic drapes and silhouettes and a color palette that is perfect for Spring.

One of the designer’s that I most look forward to each season, Son Jung Wan’s collections never disappoint and remind us that she is not just a designer, but a true artist.

Ladies Who Lunch: Zang Toi Spring 2016!

Sophisticated, elegant, luxurious, beautiful: these are just a few words that describe designer Zang Toi’s collections. This Malaysian born designer has been producing astounding collections for over 25 years and each new collection is as exciting as the previous one.

Zang Toi creates designs that take me back to the reason I first became involved in fashion many years ago and inspired me to be a designer myself.  Zang Toi designs collections that are as functional as they are beautiful.

Zang Toi always creates dramatic collections and the shows that showcase his collections reflect that.  For Spring 2016, Zang Toi took his inspiration from the Greek Island of Santorini.  Zang Toi creates the mood and feeling of his inspiration without being costumey or using clichés, taking the inspirations essence and molding it into beautiful designs.

As with all of Zang Toi’s Collections, Spring 2016 is an awe inspiring collection that prove once again how prolific this designer is!

Ladies Who Lunch: Vivienne Tam Spring 2016!

Known for bridging Eastern and Western culture, Vivienne Tam draws on her Asian heritage for inspiration and then translates it into garments that are a hit in both cultures.  And since it's March, Vivienne Tam's Spring 2016 Collection is hitting stores right now!

Vivienne Tam drew her inspiration for her Spring 2016 collection from a mixture of 1920’s Chinese Art Deco and androgynous dressing which was played with during that era.  The Chinese Art Deco theme brought in bold graphics with images of Art Deco dragons, Mahjong tiles and Deco Peonies.

With 2016 also being the Year of the Monkey, Vivienne Tam also included a signature Monkey graphic in all shapes and sizes and in every medium from print and applique to Swarovski crystals.

I am personally super excited about this collection, because it is the first time that Vivienne Tam has included menswear in her line, giving me the chance to finally be able to wear clothing from one of my favorite designers!  I had to have a Monkey Tee and you will definitely see me sporting Vivienne Tam at events around town!
